Strange to say. this car does not have any of the many elabomte type of Independent wheel suspension that . I usually found on European cars. They seem to use the regular conventional spring which is of course aided bv hydraulic shock dampers. The brakes of this car are operated through the medium both of a "servo motor." Cowling, director of sales of the Ford Motor Company, pic tured during a recent visit to the Pacific Coast, explaining' the highlights pf the "heart of the Ford" -the famous 8-cylinder V-type engine. Time tested and proven, 2,000,000 Ford 8-cylinder V-type engines are now performing on roads all over ihe world. First introduced to the low price field by Ford in the V-8 engine, setting a new standard for power and performance, has been an important factor in the Steadily increasing Ford sales since that date, company officials be lieve. The shortness of the V-type motor allows more body room on the same length wheclbase, and the rigidity of the short crankshaft fives smoother performance and minimizes vibration and wear, ac cording to the local Ford dealer. The V-type engine, the Ford deal er add, has proved its superiority over all others. Virtually every im portant speed record is field by this type of power plant, on land, in the air and over the water. More ex pensive to build, the V-8 is found only in the Ford and America's most costly cars. In spite of its increased power and speed, the 1935 Ford V-8 gives better gasoline mileage than any car of. equal power, the dealer states, and is the most economical car Ford has ever built SCOUTS ASSEMBLE 3 DAYS TRAINING Thirty-five Boy Scouts and leaders Vlll assemble Mouday morning for the three-day pre-Jamborpe training esmp at Jackson Hot Springs. Upon arriving at camp the group will be organized Into patrols and the patrol leaders will be appointed. Im mediately the patrols will be assigned to various duties In the setting up of the camp. Tents will be put up, the fly for the kitchen and other neces sary camping detnlls taken care of. The Scouts will have a busy three Unj-s. A program has been arranged that will include Instruction In tent pitching, bed making, makTng of packs and simple march formations. The patrol leaders will receive In structions on their duties. Each pa trol will function as one unit In the Troop. Tills facilitates the handling of the group and makes possible the doing of the necessary work with ease and without confusion. At the camp fires In the evenings. the Scouts will learn many Jamboree tones. Several of the moys play uku- Jples or harmonicas and from Indica tions the Troop will be a happy sing ing group. The song arranged and composed by H. N. Butler and Sebas tian Apollo has befn tried by a num ber of the local Scouts and they are all enthusiastic about It. No doubt this song will be one of the outstand Ine songs of the Jamboree. Wednesday evening the Scouts will present a ramp fire program. Par ents and friends are Invited to visit with the boys at this time. Thursday mornlnn the group will break camp and return to Medford. The out-of-town Scouts will be guests of the local boys for the after noon. The Jamboree Troop will then asaln assemble at 6:30 at the Court house, where they will leave at 7:00 fo- a parade to the train. The public la invited to be present to give the boys a good send-off. The lenders accompanying the CITY BOHN PLAN BONNEVILLE. Ore., Aug. 3. fAP) The rising $42,000,000 Bonneville power and navigation dam was viewed yesterday by Charles B. Bonn of Detroit, president ef the Bonn Aluminum and Brass corporation which he said would like to obtain the dam's total output of power or a large fraction of It. If his company obtains a large bloc of cheap power, Bohn said he would locate an aluminum plant on 600 or 700 acres wtthln five or six mllea of the dam. Modeling his industrial city alter Longview, Wash., but on a less lav ish scale. Bohn said he would buy all the land himself and sell It to Inhabitant-workers to avoid specula tion. Bohn proposes to ship ore from Utah and New Zealand to cheap Bonneville power at tidewater. He said the first proposed unit of his plant would require 65.000 horse power, a little more than half or which will be generated by the in lttal two power units being finished with the dam.
