Hagertles Have Interesting Week's Visitor Miss Grace H. Burket and brother. John W. Burket, of Tyrone, Pa., have been guests for the last week of Mr. and Mra. F. R. Hagerty, 211 Cot tage street. They are traveling by motor and arrived from San Diego, Gal., where they vlsted the fair for a few days. She has visited Jerusa lem and the Holy Lands In her re cent trip around the world. Mr. Burket Is a retired Pennsylva nia farmer, having lived in that state since he was a boy. Both are life long friends of Mr. and Mrs. Hagerty, who say it has been a great treat to entertain them In their home. They took their departure early Fri day morning. Intending to spend one day in Portland, thence to Seattle, from where they will sail for Alaska on July 30 for a stay of three weeks. On returning to Seattle, they will toke their car and start the home ward trip, traveling throught Canada and visiting Banff, Lake Lonlse and other points of Interest en route. Both were so well Impressed with southern Oregon, and especially with those whom they met while here, that they said they would like to come back and make Medford their per manent home. Walker, Members of Club Picnic Hostesses Chrysanthemum Thimble club No. 233, Neighbors of Woodcraft, enter tained the .Juveniles of the Chrysan themum circle Thursday, at Jackson Hot Springs with a delightful picnic lunch. It was one of the most successful picnics ever given by the cltfb for the Junior members with 17 Juveniles and 17 senior members present. Although the war department sup plies regular magazine subscriptions for the CCC camps, the new com panies In the district have not yet received their full quotas of men and do not enjoy the status of reg ular companies. A a result, the men now assigned to these camps are short of reading matter and the Chamber of Commerce hopes to receive a supply of old magazines for their use. Magazines suited for men's read ing are especially desired. The maga zines should be left at the Cham ber of Commerce headquarters.
