COUNTY'S SCHOOL SNOW SPORTS AT CRATER LAKE FOR CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, Ore., July 3. (Spl.) Snow snorts are In store for Crator Lake visitors on the Fourth of July. A large snow field near The Watchman, first high point on the west rim, Is ideal for skiing and tobogganing and will no doubt attract hundreds of vlaltors to this section of the park Ample parking facilities will be available for motorists near the snow sport area. The snow Is In idea! condition and will offer a pleasant contmet to the warmer temperature of the valley. In addition to snow sports, Crater Lake offers Fourth of July visitors the best trout fishing In several sea sons. So far this year quite a num ber of limit catches have been caught from the shore of the lake, but with boats now available at reasonable rates, angling will be even better. The limit catch for sometime past has been five fish per person per day, but this year has been Increased to eight fish. Visitors are reminded no fishing license la necessary at Crater Lake, and tackle can be rented at the boat landing. While the crater wall trail has been open for several days, it Is still covered by snow, through which the trail has been cut. During the earlier hours of the day, the snow Is firm, but becomes more or less soft during the afternoon. Persons mak ing this trip are advised to have ade quate footwear.
