Almost every veteran who dies now leaves a widow and children and few leave sufficient means to provide for their families. The seventeen yeare which have paaaed since the war make it very difficult to prove that the veterans' death resulted from war service, and unless such legal proof can be established no govern ment aid Is available for the family. The Legion and Auxiliary must step in with emergen, y aid until other aid can be secured or the family made self-supporting. "In addition to the veterans who die, there are more than 100,000 con stantly. In hospitals. We endeavor to do something for those veterans while they are atlll within reach of our help providing them cheer and comforts while they are In the hospital and aiding them In the long, uphill strug gle to regain an economic foothold after they leave the hospitals. Their families too, often need aid. "The popples which we will offer Friday and Saturday, May 34 and 35, to be worn in honor of the dead, are our principal means of raising funds for this work for the living." ftiinny Sisters Plan Joint .Meeting The Sunny Sisters Circle of Praa byterlan church met for their May meeting at the home of Mrs. Arthur Clement on May 14.
