Leading Issues rose 81 to more than 83 a share, and transactions ran well over 2,000.000 shares. Not since last July had Wall street seen such a volume of trading, or the share price level, as measured by averages, so high. Motors, steels, coppers, oils, chemi cals, rails and miscellaneous Indus trials led the broad advance. Wheat and corn at Chicago rose to 2 cents a bushel, but cotton futures at New York made little pro. cress, closlnc 10 cents a bale lower to 25 cents higher. Kails led a substantial advance in the bond market. U. S. government Issues were narrowly changed. Today's closing prices for 32 se lected stocks follow: Al. Chem. & Dye 151 Am. Can 126 Am. Ji Fgn.
