leave. Miss Hicks was also a teacher

tle. Mr. Ruhl spent the winter In
southern California.
Airport Active There was consid
erable activity at the municipal air
port today, with the arrival or de
parture of ten ahlps. Five Boeing pur
suit P-26-A's from Barksdale Field.
La., droned Into the valley about
noon and stopped briefly, enroute to
Seattle. Another P-26-A was from
March Field. California. A Ford Trl
motor piloted by Lieut. Cower also
visited, enroute north from Barks
dale Field. La. A Martin bomber.
B.-12 arrived, enroute from Hamilton
Field to Pearson Field. Having been
here several days, a C-24. piloted by
Private Dunbar, left today for March
Field. Piloted by Mr. Lipplet, Waco
distributor at Los Angeles, a Lock
heed Vega arrived thla afternoon to
stay at the local port .overnight.

Thursday from Fort McArthur, Cal..
with 74 men for Onx Knoll. 24 men
for Yreka, 97 men for Indian Creek
and 125 men for Evans Creek.
Two specials will arrive In the dis
trict Friday. One from Fort Sheridan
wtll have 14 men for Humbug Moun
tain. 135 for McKlnley and 142 for
China Flats. The other will be from
Fort McArthur and will have 125 men
for Elk Creek, 125 for Kerby and 85
.for Gaaquet.

stock market encountered some profit
taking In the final hour today which
unsettled rails and key industrials,
but metals and aircraft shares con
tinued In favor and held a portion
of their early gains. The closing tone
was . slightly Irregular. Sales aggre
gated 1,270,000 shares.
