Daredevil Flying In Marine Film James Cagney, Pat O'Brien and the U. 8. navy made the world "gob con scious" In "Here Comes the Navy." one of the most popular pictures of last year. Now again come that Inimitable pair, to do for the Marine Corps what they did for the Navy, In their new picture, "Devil Dogs of the Air," which opened yesterday to a large audience at the Craterian theater. Devil Dogs of the Air" has more thrills than "Here Comes the Nery.' which puts It In a class by Itself. It presents daredevil stunts by flying marines that beggar description. A dozen battleships participate in naval maneuvers directed by the U. S. S Macon. Countless airplanes zlpp and zoom through the picture, fearless filers crash their planes In midair and leap In parachutes from burning ships. As a thrill spectacle It Is un surpassed. The picture, however, which was produced with the active cooperation of the U. S. military authorities Is far more than a record of some of the most spectacular aerial and ma rlne stunts ever filmed. It is a rol licking comedy through which runs a clever romance, and the all star cast Includes more than 1.000 U. 8. Marines, who enact small parts as well provide a background for a clev erly told tale. Cagney haa never given a better performance than his portrnyel of a fresh youth who Joins the Marines because he can't keep out of alrshlpa.
