In a statement. Senator Lewis said the substitute lays "down the prin ciple that the government should provide for the citizens solely out of the federal funds; that the gov ernment shall treat the United States citizens as citizens of the United States and leave the state funds for state pensions wholly to the state treasury." Coincident with President Roose velt's return to the city, reports reached Capitol Hill today that some of his advisors were perturbed over changes already made In the social security bill. Because of this some members of the house ways and means commit tee expressed doubt as to what the presldent'a attitude would be when the amended bill Is presented to him for his approval. Associated again the Pacemaker the FUEL OF THE FUTURE A NEW GASOLINE ! A true aviation gasoline for automobiles for the first time. So sensational in performance that it is justly called "the fuel of the future" the greatest advance in Associatcd's long line of pacemaking achievements. Associated AVIATION ETHYL gives power and throttle-thrills you never knew before. The smooth power and thrills of the airways. Cold motors start in a flash, deliver peak power immediately without sputtering or additional use of the choke. An always-rcady-to-nre, dry vapor gives lightning get-away, the smooth high speed of flight. It is cheaper to drive a modern, high comprcs- sion motor on Associated AVIATION ETHYL than on regular gasoline. Motors convert every drop of this gasoline into power, get more miles per gallon. And AVIATION ETHYL'S smoother action re duces bearing pressures, reduces wear. For a new driving sensation, for new economy, try Associated AVIATION ETHYL in your car. Fly the highways! IF YOU ARE TECHNICALLY MINDED Associated AVIATION ETHYL is the same grade i i-JIIMf fill a i gasoline that Associated makes for the United States Army and Navy battle planes and it's made by the same mcdiods and equipment. VAPORIZES AT TEMPERATURES ONE-THIRD LOWER ... Its outstanding char-. acteristic is a low, flat distillation curve. This means proportionately high volatility, a Ary vapor that is always ready to fire. Associated AVIATION ETHYL vaporizes at temperatures a third lower than other premium fuels. This characteristic explains its instant responsiveness to the throttle, its zooming power in every driving range. NO CRANK-CASE DILUTION . . . Associated AVIATION ETHYL is completely free of gum and the other impurities that accumulate and tear down the efficiency of a motor. And its dry vapor eliminates the dangers of crank-case cjilution. OCTANE ABOVE 80 . . .The octane rating is above eighty, and no stock car motor, unless it is seriously out of condition, can detonate or knock with this high-test fuel. Automobile motor design has followed air-craft motor design. Modern cars need this aviation grade (not just "type") gasoline to perform at full capac ity. It is for this reason that Associated is marketing AVIATION ETHYL through service stations and garages. It is not a stunt Cars, both new and old, need Associated AVIATION ETHYL to get maxi mum performance. E NT N E ASSOCIATED OIL COMPANY
