The following la a dia- cusslon of some of these points on the new can that have arrived in Med ford, They've started aomethinf? new tor the 1935 cars to be announced soon a birthday ahower bath. All new DeSoto and Chrysler cars get a shower bath on their birth day at the Detroit factory. The shower (a water test to make sure there are no leaks in the roof, windows, windshield and doora) is part of the new car service department, which insures the uniform Inspection and conditioning of all cars before they leave the factory. After the bath, the cars are rolled over pita, (below) where factory inspectors check the body and chassis assembly. Commends Drive ir - O. L. A slogan goes "A car is no safer than the glass tn Its windows," and this la certainly a point that cannot be overlooked. Now for the first time In automobile his tory, the safety of the passengers of low priced enrs Is Insured by good bodies, gcod brakes, and at last safety glans at no extra cost. Other Improvements such as con cealed ash receptacles, recessed win dow handles In the rear-quarter win dows, and concealed luggage com partments add materially to the owner's comfort. When Walter Chrysler announced the new Dodge for 1935 he not only brought out a car of remarkable new smartness, but one with new engl neerlng Improvements, many of which he has devoted to the cooling of the new "Red Ram" engine. Notable among these are the new full length water Jackets and the now spray-cooled exhaust valve Beats. These two features have added a defi nite Improvement In the engine's performance and add materially In cutting engine wear. Another very Important feature of these new cars la the "AlrgHde Ride" which embodies practically the same principle as was used on the 34 Airflows." The general Idea Is that the rear scat has been movod for ward and olf the rear axel, thus giving the passengers of the back seat a "front seat ride." BesldcB this they put new soft leaf springs, syn chromatic levalator. and double act ing shock absorbers on the front end to eliminate side sway. lZT&g$!V?'ifKr J ' ""N 1L Pint paccful line. .! m.rk the L2ri- f 1 J f . fl New M.,ter De Luie Sport Scd.D. pttfotm.iK. and etceptlon.1 ccoa- fl li W IT III I II IIHI 1 1 Jl X the built-in trunk, .nd a luime om, ,lK Ch.,.a the on. p gM A. eornrtment behind Tth. reV i'SH Right: Front view of New M.iter , tlitSfo&ti l VJ ' ?LS?XWnm'nl ll W$PWnM 1 Jl J- VI A"Mh.r attractive model in the New moJe'n M..i.y iothi S tl K Si W V A f 1 ' ch.ui. refinementa. The Master De Luxe series reveals strong emphasis on beauty and style. Mechanic ally, the Master De Luxe series and the New Standard series have much in common, including the Ma3ter engine, in which numerous refinements have been made to enhance performance, durabilit y and economy. A-s these pietawis Kvcal, the New Master De Luxe departs distinctly from previous Chevrolets in the striking advance which has been made in body design and trim. Motorists Warned By State Police Purchase License Southern Oregon motorists who have not yet applied for their 1935 auto licenses are warned to do so at once, according to notice Is sued by the state police headquar ters. Most of the cars In this vicinity have either temporary sticker or have already received their plates, but there are still some unlicensed cars on the streets. It is reported that those send ing In aplicatlons for plates are getting them In record time, most of the orders being filled on the day received. Motorists in the state of Wash ington are required by law to dis play new plates on the first' of Jan uary, while California seta the time limit at January 31 and Ida ho at March 1. 10 ROSEBURO, Ore.. Mr. Burgess will assume his duties Monday. The transfer, it was announced. Is of a temporary nature, to continue -vhile Supervisor R. S. Shelley of the Sluslaw forest, is serving an assignment with the agricultural adjustment administra tion. . Card of Thanks We wish to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the sympathy and help extended us by our many friends and neighbors during our recent bereavement. A A. McCoy and family. In announcing the new Pontine Ixcs and eights. General Motors has brought something new to the mo toring world in the way of bodies. They have taken the rcgtilar Fisher body and put an all-steel roof on it. They call It the solid steel "Tur ret Top," and It does enhance the beauty of the car considerably. These new P o n 1 1 a c s also have greatly Improved conveniences, for Instance a baggage and spare tire compartment In the rear cornea on all sedans, and there la no doubt the rounded contours of this year's car are certainly a great improve ment over last year's. After looking over the new Chrysler "Alrstream" six and eight I am sure most everyone will agree that It Is one of the smartest cars Chrysler has ever made. Its distinctive radiator shell Is a sharp contrast to what Terraplano Six Coupe mounted on 112 -inch wheelbase with a 88-horsepower engine. This car is made either 83 a three-passenger model with baggage compartment in the roar er as a five-passenger model with rumble seat we saw in Chrysler's "34 "Airflows." This new car has retained the inde pendent wheel suspension it had last year, but It has also moved the mo tor and passenger compartment ahead in order to give a still better ride, especially to the rear seat occupants. The car has also many Interior refinements such as ash trays, cigar lighter, ventilating system, armrests. and Individual foot rests. By the way. the Airflow has a smart new radiator treatment, to. As a last thought I would like to remind everyone that this year's cars apparpntly are the best values that have ever boe offered te tlx; pub lic. 4 When It comes to radios, rememaer "Prultt's can do It."
