It appeared that many consumers would not purchase at prices over 35 cents a pound retail. The speculators, of course, were the fear dee t hit, for some of them bad rushed Into the country to outbid all competitors for supplies. Some shov ed a loss of three to four cent a pound on tons of blrda. Y FANS AT GAME Med ford football fans who returned this morning from Portland, where MM ford and Washington high schools played a 8-to-fl tie Thanksgiving day at Multnomah stadium, said the Med ford rooting section was one of the largest ever to follow the Tigers on a title-seeking Invasion of Portland. Among boosters of the red and black were W. A. Gates, W. 15. Bolger, B. O. ("Jerry') Jerome, J. Verne Shangle. W. F. ("Toggery Bill") Isaacs, Harry Hlnman and Dr. B. R. Elliott, as well as many other bust nesa men, their wires, and large delegation of high school students. Although the school band was un able to lend Its color and support to the team this year, the Medford root ing section was said to have com pared favorably with the group of Colonial followers. The sendoff given the team Wed nesday morning at the depot saw several hundred etvdents from both senior and Junior high schools, with many townspeople, present. V. F. W. CHIEF WILL PAY G.
