"Two hundred dollars," murmured STATESMEN SEEK (By the Associated Press) Urgent efforts to oonclude new armistices harassed statesmen the world over as survivors of the last great war today observed the slxteen th anniversary of the truce which ended It. Climaxing League of Nations at tempts to halt the war between Boliv ia and Paraguay, five nations of the latin American Peru, Chile, Argen tina, Venezuela and Mexico formally addressed to the belligerents a plea for peace. But almost at the same moment renewed fighting wae re ported to have broken out In th Chaco. In London the naval strategists of three nations continued their strug gle to reach an arms armistice fore stalling the dangers of a competitive race of sea supremacy among the United States, Japan and Great Brit ain. While League sta teamen pondered the problem of patching up some kind kf armistice between conflicting French and Oerman Interests in the Saar (which votes Jan. 13 to remain under League sovereignty, return to Germany or become French!, new charges of Nazi secret police terrorism there were added to the League's worries.
