Song, "My Faith Looks Up to Thee," waa followed by prayer, by Mrs. John Kent. The song. "Trusting Jesus, That Is All," was sung and Mra. Warner, teacher of the clbss, gave the devotional on the subject of prayer, from the scripture, Luke, 18th chapter. Addresses of welcome will be given by Mayor Geo. Porter and the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce, the Ministerial asso ciation, the P.-T. A. and other organisations. Announce Mem her ship Drive Mrs. John Heyland, county mem bership chairman of the Parent- Teachera association, Is anxious that Jackson county reach its quota by November 1. at which time payment of dues should be made. The Oregon quota baa been raised 40 per cent this year, ahe stated. "When the committee calls, wel come them, and have your due ready," she stated. "Since the ob ject of the organization Is to carry on constructive work for better par enthood, better home, schools and communities, every parent should ftel It his duty to be loyal. "Not only the parents, but anyone Interested In the organization, may belong. I hope every unit member ship chairman will put forth an ef fort to assist the county committee In putting Jackson county among those who have reached their quota. As the Jackson and Washington schools In Med ford were the only units to receive citations at the con ference held In Grants Pass Tues day, it was urged that all units strive for such recognition. A. and the Community club a public reception I for the teachers waa held at the city hall Wednesday evening. The follow ing program waa given: Piano solo, Lucille McCullom: ad dress of welcome, Mra. Dlllard, 39 Summit avenue, at 2 0 clock. FOUR ACCIDENT DEATHS IN OREGON INDUSTRY SALEM, Oct. 19. (p) Accidents In Oregon Industries claimed the lives of four men during the two weefcs ending yesterday, the state Industrial aocldent commission reported today. During the same period, 1,175 work men were injured. Those Injured fatally were John S. Korb, Scotts Mills, laborer: James C. Beagle, Ashland, fire warden; Stlns Webster, Talt, loper and John S. Eubanks Portland, gate-tender. ALL EQUIPMENT CALLED OUT BY 4-ALARM BLAZE (Continues from page one.) In closing and protecting fire walls saved the south side of the terminal. Three coastwise freighters at the dock were moved to midstream when the fire broke out. Dock employes were credited by firemen with having been largely In strumental In preventing the spread of the flames. They closed fire doors and started the Interior sprinkling system which operates throughout the 11,200,000 terminal. Offices Destroyed Offices of the terminal, Llddell & Clark, Daley Brothers, lockers of the Jones Stevedoring company, the dock machine shop and the offices of an apple broker were destroyed. A strong wind fanned the flames Into Intense heat which melted the corrugated Iron sheathing In several places on the north pier. Virtually every piece of equipment In the Portland fire department waa moved in after the fourth alarm, as additional apparatus sped to the fire and other reserve pieces were dis tributed for protection against any other fire.
