Both ara iiutructors In the Southern Oregon Normal Miss Ady will teach either indus trial art for beginners, or drawing lor beginners, the course to be se lected t the meeting Tuesday even ing. October 3, at 7:16 o'clock. Dr. Taylor's course will be held on Mon day evenings at the same time, fol lowing the organization meeting next Tuesday. The Industrial Art for beginners Is course which Include work with stencil. bntJk, block print, toymaklng and which Is designed for those teachers and home mnfcers who feel the need for more background. Miss Ady explained that there will also be an opportunity for the working out of Individual problems at the mini mum cost of materials. Drawing for beginners Includes drawing from costume models, portrait of some member of the group or of a niodol provided by the stu dent, quick-brush sketches of ani mals, a caricature and n original stlll-llfe. Dr. Taylor will teach the contem porary English novel, the course In volving bo mo preliminary study of background material through a few suggestive books and later an Inten sive study of several novels of mod ern England. Some work will be as signed on the biographies of authors, and members of the class will be given an opportunity to exercise their critical faculties through class dis cussion and In the preparation of written reports. The courses are maintained for IS weeks, with classes held once each week. Those completing the courses are given two-hour extension creel. with tho University of Oregon. Butterfat was advanced one cent to 38c for Portland delivery and 36c country delivery. Orade B butterfat was quoted at 37c, Portland deliv ery. JT) Four months old today, the famous Dlonne quintuplets are becoming "spoiled," snd Dr. A. R. Da foe says the petting of the amazing little sis ters must stop. At the same time he declared all are immeasurably better fortified In the race for life than they were one month ago. Since their birth last May 38, there have been setbacks and times of worry and there may be more to come but the energetic mlddle-aed, phy sician was preud today as he looked bark over the successful struggle. "Their worst time," he said, as he! prepored to leave for the new little hospital where the babies were moved less than two weeks ego, "was the period immediately after their birth. Their lack of vitality and the poor surroundings, with few If any con veniences to meet the emergency, gave little hope that all would survive. It i was remarkable the way they got along." Constant care and attention had Its early effect. Under a capable nursing staff, with the addition of more and more com forts and necessities, the babies be-; gsn to thrive. Then came days when one or the other was not well. Utile Marie, the smallest, suffered most of . the five from Jaundice. Later, a; growth on her thigh was definitely; diagnosed ss a tumor, and radium treatment wo applied by world-renowned specialists. Dr. Defoe said the tumor now appears "dead." Then came a trying experience as one after the other of the little sis ters suffered from Intestinal toxemia. Today they are safely through this trying time, aald Dr. Dafoe. "They have had so much attention throughout their sickness, the little scamps are getting spoiled," said the physician today. TARZAN COWS FIERY LUPE FUSS OVER TAXICABS NEWARK, N. Y., Sept. 28. (UP) Tarzan asserted his dominance over his mate at Newark airport today. Johnny Wclsmuller, Tarzan of the screen, and his sharp-ton gued wife, Lupe Velez, arrived aboard a trans port plane from the west 'coast. They appeared to be amiably disposed, to ward each other as they alighted. Lupe- walked over to a yellow cab and desposlted her teelonglngs. Johnny walked to a red cab with his things. Then the battle started. "Get in this cab!" shouted Johnny. "Nol" sold Lupe, stamping her loot. "You come to thees one!" "I said get In this cab!" coun tered the big strong man of the Hollywood Jungles. "You go to hell!" shoutea Lupe. Johnny turned and entered the red cab. Lupe hesitated. She started to get Into the yellcw cab. Then she reached In. removed her things, and walked fuming to her husband's cab. They sat staring straight ahead, w the car pulled out for Manhattan Johnny apparently was so uet by the Incident that he left his polo coat at the airport. An attendant who witnessed the argument grinned broadly as the cab, red, disappeared "It looks HW he said, "that Lupe can't take it anymore." Lupe, some months ago, said she believe that frequent fights have a salutary effect in marriage. Simple Courtesy Would Save Many Traffic Mishaps SALEM, Ore., Sept. 28. (UP) An analysis of traffic accident causes completed by the state de partment showed tonight that sim ple courtesy on the part of motor ists would have averted 868 acci dents on Oregon highways during August. Among this class of accidents were infractions such as driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to yield right of way, cut ting In, passing standing street cars, passing on a curve or on the wrong side, falling to signal and falling to stop at arterlals.
