The Fumess steam ship Co. has regular service every fortnight direct to the United King dom, and Is used extensively by local shippers. Mr. Hill haa been in San Francisco for the past few days, hav ing been In Medford two weeks ago. Return from South Allen D. Curry and Rev. W. Baird returned last evening by mote from a 10 days' vacation in southern California, where they were accompanied by Mr. Curry's sister, Miss Eleanor Curry, who will remain In the south until the opening of school, when she will return to teach. Leaves Town James Clyde Gazley, 36, a transient, when given the choice of 10 days in Jail or leave town, aftrr having been arrested Wednesday night by city police on drunkenness charges, left yesterday. Visits Joe nurd Mrs. E. H. Hard of this city received a letter from her son, Joe Hurd, stating that Fred Spuhn had spent ten days with him in his London flat. Spuhn had been at Henley with his Yale crew. Mrs. Crdwson Visits Mrs. W. Y. Crowson, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Herb Alford, in Port land for some time. Is here to spend several days with friends. Mrs. Crow son formerly resided here, operating Crowson's confectlonc.y. visits Parents Philip T. Sharp of San Diego, who haa been spending several days of his vacation in Med ford, left Thursday on the United Air Lines ship for Portland, where he will visit his parents. Sharp was for merly field superintendent hero for United Air Lines. From Eugpne George Knight of Eugene, representing the John Mor rell company, is here today attending to business matters, as Is Bernle Wil liams, who is with the Walton te Moore dry goods company of San Francisco. Mrs. Williams accompanied her husband here. At Crater Lake Dr. and Mra. Charles Fleischer 'and Mra. Jameson Cotting of New York City arrived In Medford by train this morning from the north, and are now at Crater Lake, having made the trip this morn ing by stage. Dr. and Mrs. Fleischer and Mrs. Cotting have been in Alaska for the post few days, and are making an extended tour of scenic points. Cap tain Hebert visited the CCC district headquarters here this morning, and he and Mrs. Hebert planned to visit Lieutenant Cyril H. McGuire at Camp Upper Rogue enroutc to the lake. Captain Hebert is the brother of Cap tain Edmund Nelson Hebert, in the regular army, who was in charge of the quartermaster's department of the Medford CCC district when it was organized over a year ago.
