A number of her friends surprised ner cy cringing a plcnlo lunch, who was enjoyed on the banks of Rogue river. After lunch swimming was the dlvenlon. Large bouquets of beautiful flowers, lent charm to the rooms. An enjoyable feature of the eve ning was the unexpected presence of Neighbor Katie Rathburn from Port land, who Is visiting hsre. Presents were exchanged and Pollyannas drawn for the ensuing term. Refreshments were served, by Neighbors Jessie Lalng, Clozette Jones, Ethel Latham and Irene Shir ley as committee. Pythian Club ' llonont Wortiniins The Pythlnn club met at the home of Mrs. Walden Inst Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Wortman, who ex pect to leave within a few days as representatives from tho state of Ore gon of the !C. P.'s and the Pythian Sisters to attend grand lodge at Chi cago, were given a shower of many nice gifts. Bridge and pinochle were played during the evening, prises going to Mrs. Conrad, Mrs. Emma Jeschke, T. Judge and Mr. Wolfe: pinochle to Mrs. Fischer and Mra. Ciabrlel, Mr. Wortman and Mr. Yarbrough. The next meeting will be a plcnlo at the Ashland park, Tuesday evening, July at. - Loyalty Club Meets Wednesday The Loyalty club of tht Eagles met at the Seven Osks dance pavilion on the Jacltaomille highway Wednesday. A potlurk dinner waa served at noon to thirty persoi's. A quill top waa prepared for Hunt ing. In the alternoon the meeting was called to order by the president. Two new members were taken Into the organisation. The hostesses In charge were Llbby root, Dorrltt and Cecil Sullivan, Theresa Blanchl assisted the hos tesses and furnished the hall. The next meeting will be In charge of Ursula Chlltl ret li, Lula Thurston and Bessie Powell, with a meeting In the evening. Club members and their families are Invited. Hodges, Plckel and Mites have served on this committee throughout the club year and many delightful affairs have been given by them. A brief business meeting wss held with Mrs. J. H. The new president, Mrs. F. J. Wilmot, presided at business period, snd the committees snd groups for the year, were announced. The new program leaders sre Mra. Jack Hem street, Mrs. Ruth Hood, Mrs. I. H. Oove. Mrs. R. L. Ray and Mrs. W. C. Kindred. Tht devotional service was led by Mrs. F. A. Gregory and the scripture resd was Luke 6:1-7. Dur ing devotional service Mrs. James Orlgsby sang "My Josus, As Thou Wilt." The program hour was In charge of Mrs. He-nstreet, and In her Intro ductory talk she announced tht sub' Ject as "Their Yesterdays." Mi's. Eu nice Smith gave a reaume of the work through the paat 60 years, alto told of the development of tht work in our own state of Oregon. Mrs. Everett Eada had as her sub ject "Those whom we delight to honor," snd at the close of her talk presented a beautiful boutonnlere of flowera to Mrs. Margaret Fisher, who Is the only living charter member of the local organization. Mrs. Ray conducted the study class, also giving very Instructive talk on the work In tha six children's nomas, The Hidden Answers, as given In the World Call magaslne, were given by Mrs. Reta Cox . L. director, outlined work to be done in that department.
