The Ewauna-Rogue game will be a regu larly acheduled Southern Oregon league battle. With a rants Fasa leading the pen nant chase by a full two-game mar gin over Medford and with but me remaining to be played, the game with Ewauna today takes on a cru cial aspect. In case Medford loses, the fast-stepping Merchants will be praotlcally In. Calvert. In the opinion of weu known baseball experts like Swede Klaberg, Ray Eubanks and Court Hall, has the brightest future oi any southern Oregon player In many years. If Medford la to win today's game, BUI Sargent will have to put the pressure on three or the nest me ters In 'the olrcult.' In Haley, big Ewauna first baseman, the Klamath club boasts one of the hardest hit tors to be seen In action on local diamonds. He has an average of close to .400 and has hit In every league game this year to be the lone player with that record. Wheeler, shortstop, and Qlen Put' nam, Paolflo university star, are also heavy stickers, In Blanas, catcher, and Carlstrom, pltoher,, Ewauna haa a pair who have seen action on Pacific Coast league fields. Blanaa was aent to Klamath Falls by the San Francisco Missions for more seasoning and la the most fiery receiver, by far, In the league. Carlstrom had an extended tryout with Sacramento this spring. To match Ewauna's heavy hitting array, Medford will present Paul Hof fard, Dean Joy and Billy Calvert who, by the way, takes a cut that will some day make a Coast league acout mile broadly. Those three are the Rogue heavy hitters. For most of the season It has been, as Hoffard goes, so goes the Rogues and If the big boy la on today, Med ford fana should see some real slug ging. .
