Indications today were to the ef fect that the Fairgrounds baseball diamond would not be In shape for Sunday'a game. Manager Height there fore announced that the game has been transferred to Klamath Palls, and that Grants Pass, Instead of play ing In the Falls would plsy the Ewau na team at Grants Pass. The Rogues will meet the Shaw-Bertram team. It has been some seven weeks since a game has been held at the Fair grounds due to the erection of a siage, platform, eto. for the Jublloe Pageant and roundup, on the playing field. This left the Rogues without a field to play or even practice on as there are no other diamonds avail able In Medford. All games during tnis period have been played on for elgn fields with the result that the team has slipped considerably In the percentage column. The Jubilee oommlttee announced definitely that the field would te book In playing shape next week so Mccuora fans can again look forward to some baseball. Manager Halght announced the signing of a new pitcher In the per son of Bill Sargent. Sargent's spe cialty la a fast ball with a nloe hop ana nice change of pace combined with an assortment of fast and slow curves. He should be a winner In this league. Lost year and until ft week ago Sargent pitched for Shreveport, La., In the Dixie league and Is stlil the property of that club but lumo ed the team due to a low salary and tne wrrmo neat in that part of tho country. Chief McLean has been released, ac cording to Halght. Halght states that in his opinion MoLean Is the best all-around prospect ho has ever seen, wonderful ball player but too eo- centrlo for the good of the team. A few errors of bad decisions by the um pire make the Chief sore and he would refuse to pitch or play further. This happened on two occasions. Last Sunrta.y Halght said. He refused to relieve Hughes when asked to do so in the fifth Inning In the game with Grants Pass. There Is a. possibility that be may Join up with Shaw-Bert ram and oppose his former team mates Sunday at Klamath Falls. Paul Hess. Jacksonville high sehojl boy has also been added to the Rogue roster. Paul Is but 17 years of age, Is over alx feet tall and In Height's opin ion should develop Into a real pitcher.
