Anderson defeated How ard McKlnney, (or the Democratic . nomination for constable, Medlord district, by a majority of 38 votea, according to the official count com pleted this afternoon. The final count was: Anderson ..................... "38 McKlnney 804 The Mall Tribune count on the race gave Anderson a lead of 38. It was the closest race of the primary. . Col. E. E. Kelly, veteran Jackson county attorney, was nominated for state senator on the Demoeratlo tick et. Colonel Kelly and H. D. Brower were write-In candidates at tbe pri mary. Browsr received 09 votes and Kelly 379, according to the official count completed this morning. Kelly will oppose State Senator George W. Dunn of Ashland, Republican nomi nee, In the November election. At the primary last Friday 8252 voters cast ballots. Assessor J. B. Coleman estimated there would be "8,0000 voters If the sales tax wakes them up." The official count for state sena tor sbowa that Senator Dunn of Ash land received 8244 votes and Victor Bursell of Central Point lfllff, a ma jority for Dunn of 1634.
