Both bride and groom have resided In Butte Falls many years and their friends wish them happiness. Mrs. RJchard Huddle and baby. Sally, of Yreka are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harold Potton for a week. Mrs. James I. Patton visited her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Hlgenbotham, In Medford Friday and Saturday, Hustlers' club met with Mrs. Ev erett Moore Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Peachy of Ash land attended the Butte Falls dance Saturday. Robert Cadzow of Ashland visited his father last week. Mrs. Jane Smith, Wayne Smith and Mr. Alexander of Central Point visited Mr, and Mrs. Don Smith Sun day. Baccalaureate services will be given at the ohuroh Sunday evening. Every one is 'urged to come. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Weaver and sons, Jaok and Dick, went to the valley Sunday . Butte Falls choir went to Lake Creek Sunday. They gave four num bers. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhn, Mrs. Del mer Oott and Jim OUonanue accom panied them. Mrs. Delmer Oott and eight mem bers of the Christian Endeavor at tended the Christian Endeavor report of the golden Jubilee at Salem In Medford May 8. They left Saturday by the oast route for Long Beach, Cat., where Mr. Bow ers Is engaged in business. Mrs. Bow ers Is the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. BoomsUter of the Riviera service station. She Is an accom plished musician and will be greatly missed by her many friends here, May 30, the Sunday school will hold Its annual anniversary plonte. Rev. Randall will hold servloes at noon. Mrs. Charles MoMerrlck and chil dren, Alice and OeoTge, returned home May 13 from a week's visit with her parents. Mr. and Mr. O. Loveless of Williams. Ed Koster and Tom Orlggs were In Orants Pass on business May 10. Mrs. Louis Sargent, who has been visiting relatives and friends at Gold Hill and Central Point, spent several days ,'ast week with Mrs. Oeorge Lance, returning to her home Sun day, aocompsnled by Mr. and Mrs. 0. High School Christian Endeavor society of the phoenix Presbyterian church had charge of the special services Sunday evening, May 13 and presented a pro gram In honor of Mother's day. Each mother was presented a corsage of flowers as shf entered the church. Miss Virginia Porter presided at the meeting, and the program Included a violin solo by Frances Porter, two special song numbers by the entire Christian Endeavor group, a solo by Marjorle Poling, talk by Jim Nowland poetry by Mary Jarvle Thompson, talk Virginia Porter, and a sottg by the choir. Adrian Praley was in charge of the Young People's meet ing Sunday evening, and Norman Praley, Adrian Praley, and Violet Judy of Medford gave an Interesting report of the state convention. Regular quarterly missionary meet ing of the High School Christian En deavor society Sunday was conducted as a Korean church service. Miss Mary Jarvle Thompson, who spent some time In Korea, had charge of the services. Ladles' Aid society Is holding an all-day meeting at the church for spring clean-up, May IS. There will bo a covered dish luncheon. Phoenix high school baccalaureate sorvlces will be held May 20, at 11 a. m. at the Presbyterian church. Rev. R. S. Peterson will deliver the ser mon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fisher of Lake view arrived Wednesday for the fu neral services of Mr. J. Mast held Thursday, and left for their home Sunday night. ' Miss Faye Carver and Mrs. L. Meeting of the combined Phoenix and Medford Thimble clubs was held at the home of Mrs. L. Coleman, May 11, with about 30 members present. A covered dish luncheon was enjoyed at noon, and following the afternoon meetings, the time was spent quilting and playing cards. Visitors from Medford Thimble club were: Mes dames Anderson, White, Carey, Park er, Piatt,' Beck, Samuels, ScriQter, Oall, Much more, Pickle, Montgomery, and Miss Venlta Anderson. Mrs. Bert Stancllff and daughter Beverly, and Mrs. Frank Denzer visit ed Sunday with Mrs. C. W. Turpln who Is 111 at her home In Medford. Juveniles of the Neighbors of Wood craft gave a Mother's day party May 12 at the Orange hall, and about 40 members and guests were present. An Interesting program was given, and refreshments served. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilbur of Hilt, Calif., visited Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Halle raft, on their way home from Dorena, Ore., where they spent Moth er's day with Mra. Nettle Wilbur. Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Glover and fam ily spent Mother's day at Mr, and Mrs. Ray Ad kins'. Home extension unit will meet Fri day afternoon 1:30 p. m. at the Eagle building club rooms. The president requests that all members wear their project dresses. Annual Mother's day party given by members of the Thursday club was held May 10 at the Phoenix Pres byterian churoh parlors. The pro gram consisted of group recitations by the high school glee club; the sixth grade girls under Mrs. Fish sang compositions by Brahm and Schubert; solo by Patricia Furry ac companied by Marlta Furry; piano solo by Barbara Stancllff and a recitation, "The Greatest Battle" by Mrs. Donna Oraffis. The guests In cluded: Mesdames Brownrlgg, Cole man, Denzer, Ferns, Oraffis, Furry, Hayman, Morgan, Sheets, Robblns, Turpln, Watklns, Webster, Wilson, C. Wright, J. Wright, Stedman. Works, and Misses Ida Bishop and Mary Stancllffe. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Blevlna went to Klamath Falls May IS. Trail year's work was planned. New of ficers elected were Mrs. Eva Segess man, unanimously re-elected chair man: Mrs. Zoba Oates, secretary and treasurer. A picnto lunch was served on the lawn. Arter lunch a basket well filled with gifts for the tiny baby, Mary Elizabeth, was presented Mrs. Segessman from the ladles present. This was the last meeting until September when the fall work will begin. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Watson have gone to Union Creek to camp for a few months. Mrs. Lily Saltzaman of Medford spent a few days here visiting friends. R. Morgan and 8. W. Hutchinson drove to Pish lske May 11, to fish and returned with the limit. ...
