PAGE NINE OFFICERS OF CCC Orders haw been Issued from CCC dlatrict headquarters here, In which are Included the transfers of numer ous officers within the district. These changes become effective Immediately, and have been brought about by he entry of the additional 10 camps from the Bedding and Eugene districts In to the district supervised by Mcdford headquarters. Captain Herman L. Harms, Ord. Res., who has been In command of Camp Wineglass, Is now assigned to Camp - Oak Knoll In northern Cali fornia. First Lieutenant E. C. Howe, Inf.-Bes., will leave Camp Bradford and go to company 026 at Camp Applegate. Now on duty with the Applegate company. Captain Roy E. Farley, Air Res., will go to the Hilt camp. In northern California. The changes being made will put First Lieutenant Charles H. Jeffress, Qm.-Res., with company 1534 at Camp Wineglass, transferring him from company 1910 at Camp Indian Creek, in northern California. Lieutenant (Jg) Frederick W. Kuhn, TJSN. with Camp Hilt, will go to Camp Indian Creek, and First Lieu tenant Cyril H. McGulre, CA-Res., Is relieved from command of Headquar ters detachment here, and will go to Camp Bradford. Second Lieutenant Henry A. B arris. Inf.-Res., with company 1555 at Camp Annie Springs, although assigned to company 926, Applegate, will be on detaohed service at local headquar ters, for temporary duty. Captain George L. May hard. U. S. U. C, will report to Camp Tiller from Camp McKlnley, and First Lieutenant George W. Everman, Inf.-Res., will leave Camp Steamboat for assign ment to Camp McKlnley. t E J1F SEEING DANSEUSE When the spring concert of the Gleemen was first planned, many of the members were too busy to attend the rehearsals and for a while it looked as though the date would have to be abandoned. This despite the fact that two very capable art ists. Miss Frances Mullen, planlste, and Dorothy Wagner, dancer, had been secured to divide the program with Medfords' singing organization. However, Jim Stevens, the club's director, Is nothing if not resource ful. He quietly spread the word among the members that one of the numbers to be presented by Miss Wagner would be the famous Sally Rand "Fan Dance." Since which time all of the chairs have been filled I during the weekly practice meetings and the waiting list of applicants for membership has grown tremendously. Needless to say, Jim's ruse "for ob taining full representation at rehear sals was purely a fabrication. Never theless, the public Is assured a pro gram that for variety and talent has not been excelled In past perform ances. The Joint cncert is to be held at the high school auditorium Monday evening, May 14. ATTENTION, VETERANS: There will be a special meeting at the Arm ory Friday evening at 8 o'clock. A matter of Importance to all Veterans of all Wars will be discussed. Every veteran, whether a member of any organization or not, Is urged to be present. TO ENFORCE BUTTER SYSTEM Southern Oregon creamery oper ators, butterfat producers and cream station managers, representing 11 creameries, met here last night with a committee working under the state butter marketing agreement which it holding a series of meetings through out the state. Cream grading and improvement In butterfat quality, grading of butter under the new sys tem of labeling In A, B and C grades ana tne appointment of a local en forcement committee were explained to local dairymen. The state committee consists of J. D. Mickle, chief of the division of foods and dairies, state department of agriculture; Dr. G. H. Wtlster. dairy department, Oregon State college; E. Jj. Martlndale and H. C. Raven, creamerymen, Portland, and Paul C. Adams, secretary Oregon Dairy coun cil, similar meetings will be held today in Coos county and In Eugene on Saturday. Under the marketing agreement, the producers of butterfat will be paid a premium on grade A cream, which should result In greater returns to Oregon dairymen without extra ex pense or equipment, according to Mr. Mickle. A local enforcement commit tee, consisting of John Lulman, Mrs. Maude Snider, County Agent Fowler or Medford; Paul Taylor, Ashland, and J. R. Harvey, secretary of Grants Pass chamber of commerce, was selected at last night's meeting. Enforcement of the state butter marketing agree ment m Jackson and Josephine coun ties will be conducted by this committee. Increased consumption will be the Immediate result of the Improved quality of butter now being marketed under the new grade A label, accord ing to this committee. o'clock, at the Blue Flower lodge.
