From Island lake, whose extreme arm crosses from Manitoba Into northwestern Ontario to the McLeod river district of northern Alberta, gold discoveries, It is believed, may be linked up to give Canada a glac ier gold mining zone, extending over 100.000 acres. Regarded as one of the most Im portant finds in the wide arc of ex ploration, the re-dlscovery of the lost McLeod mine, in the mysterious Na hann! country of the northwest ter ritories, holds hope for many. Claims have been staked for miles along the shore line of the creek, called the ."back door to the Yukon."
