Himself a former postmaster-general, the United Aircraft official tes tified that Gove was a friend of long standing. Henderson aald the loan was made when Oove became Involved 'In the stock market, and added that since then he had torn up notes evi dencing the Indebtedness. -f Eating Time for Etting r The Judges, Wm. MacAlllster, Eu gene Thorndtke and Hay Wright, met last night and selected the four nest essays on "What Is the Value of Life Insurance to the Community," which was open to competition of all high and Junior high school students of Jackson county. The contest, an annual affair, is conducted by the Rogue Valley Life Underwriters' asociatlon, made up of the 10 leading life Inaurance men of -the valley. The names selected by the Judges were: Dolph Janea, Med ford lilgh school; Grayce R. Garrison, Phoenix high school: Prances Port, Ashland high school, and Ralph Train, Prospect high. Only three prises are to be award ed, and it was decided to allow the publlo to help pick the winners from those four,. The essays will be read over KMED tonight at 8 p. m. Votes . will be received by the station until Tuesday night when the winning es say will be read again and the other :wlnnera announced. (UP) An In dex to the Increasing safety of air travel was contained In the annual report of Boy O. Farrell, manager of the Kansas City municipal airport. The report showed that 42,859 passengers embarked or disembarked from planes at the airport in 1033 without any accidents. ' With a total of 10,198 landings a rfd 18,340 takeoffs, only two serious accidents and one fatality occurred, according to the report, Total poundage of nuvll carried at the airport showed a decrease. The poundage totaled 870,785, a de crease of 78,039 pounds inder 1033. Total passenger business, Including commercial transport and army op erations, showed a gain of 0,030 for the year, bringing the 1038 total to 01,058. Despite restricted military flying, a total of 1,553 army flyers used the airport In 1033. E IN STERLING AREA A temporary Injunction was filed this morning, in the suit of the Med ford Power, Water and Development company against R. E. Banks and 70 other squatter miners on the Sterling mine property. The court order covers all of the land Involved except a considerable acreage "which the court Is not satis fied the plaintiff Is the owner." The deimdants ere forbidden by the injunction from trespassing on the Sterling property. No date has been set for the hear ing on making the Injunction per manent.
