Referee Kogut had some trouble In making Stone break the "choker,' but Stone broke away only to clamp It on again. This time with even more determination. Kogut worked hard to pull the two men apart, and at one awarded the fall to the gasping Wolfe. The blonde- haired bad man of Chicago was an gered. He turned loose a fist which caught Kogut in the face and sent him to the mat. Up In an Instant, the French-Canadian referee went for Stone, but City Policeman Walter RelnkJng came flying Into the ring as a peacemaker, only to stumble over the now prostrate Stone. In a few momenta, however, the rough- house party was quieted, a state po liceman arriving to reinforce Reln klng In keeping the athletes apart, The crowd was yelling and standing on chairs during the heat of the ex cftement, and was almost reluctant to leave when the law put an end to attempted mayhem. Kogut was considerably rolled, and Immediately upon leaving the ring declared Stone's hot-headed methods didn't mean much to him. Kogut re sented the sock In the Jaw, and wants a chance to wrestle Stone. "He couldn't throw me In two hours, and If I'd ever get a match with him. Z could throw him twice in one hour, I don't care how rough he gets,' Kogut said. It la possible the two may be matched sometime In the future, but no reports of a match between them In the next week or two were heard today. Stone weighs around 200 pounds and Kogut tips the beam at about the same. Al (Man Mountain) Schnell, 305 pound Australian matman. lost two. out of three falls to Lea O rimes, 185, a fellow countryman. Schnell pinned Grimes for the first fall In 11 mln utea, but lost the second In four minutes when Orlmes clamped on a hammertoe It. Ear pulling, a per fectly legitimate hald, was used In every match of last nlghtta card, which seemed to have the hearty ap proval of the good Bleed crowd pres ent. Capone (above) said he would re turn to Chicago, (Associated Press Photo Following close upon the an nouncement from Portland that the main speaker for the "mammoth' banquet to be held at the Multno. man hotel tomorrow night in cele bration of the first anniversary of. the "New Deal" would be designated by President Roosevelt, Information was received today revealing that Attorney A. E. Reames of this city had been named to deliver the ad dress. Mr. and Mrs. Reames will leave tonight for the northern city, where a luncheon honoring Mr. Reames will also be an event in Democratic cir cles of the state tomorrow noon. The first report from Portland, re leased to the press, stated that the speaker would be "some outstanding Oregon Democrat and an enthusias tic supporter of the Roosevelt New j Deal, the speaker to be designated ! by the president." The banquet 1 has been arranged under auspices of the Oregon Society of Democratic Engineers, and ts ex pected to draw representatives from every county of the state who are Anxious to express their approval of the national program which followed the Inauguration of President Roose velt Just one year ago. Some prominent Democrats from out of state are also expected guests at the banquet, which will be quite the largest affair of the year In political circles. The guest list will not be confined to Bour bons alone, as an Invitation la ex tended members of all political par ties who are in aympathy with the Roosevelt ' New Deal." Captain Durham, commanding of ficer, stated that there Is a great need for used clothing of all kinds and a special need tor children's clothing, Numerous calls are made upon the Army which It Is unable to answer because the needed articles are not In stock: Captain Durham suggested that during the housecleanlng season no one destroy articles of clothing, bed ding or furniture which might be, put to good use for the needy, but: that anyone having such articles call ! the Salvation Army, phone 350, and j they will be glad to call for them. VERDICT IN CASE A circuit court Jury, of which Wal ter O. Grant was foreman, last night returned a verdict for $ft00 In favor of A. W. Pipes SRaiust R. L. Wyant and wife, for money allegedly due for dairy rentals. The verdict was reached about 10 p. m. and waa opened at the start of court this morning. Nine Jurors concurred in the verdict. The suit was filed by Pipes as ad ministrator of the bucinfM partner ship between him and t'ie late Bert Anderson. The property involved In the ac tion Ilea near Central Point and in known aa the Hilton dairy. Pipes and Anderson purchased the prop erly and leased It to the Wyanta.
