Senator Dunn said a number of citizens of the county had asked him recently about his plans. He has served four terms In the legislature. William N. (Parber Bill) Carle, Ap plegate farmer and dairyman, visited In town yesterday and stated the "state senatorial bee Is still buezlng In my bonnet. "If Senator Dunn runs, It will be a pleasure to be beaten by such a good man," Carle stated. He also said "the time has come for the farmer to start thinking' Carle said he would not run for the lower house, aud "It will be senator or nothing." The local campaign has been marked so far by dearth of "self starters." There also are signs that the people, profiting by experience, will be more careful In tholr primary elections. The voters are "weighing" the prospective candidates more than m 1933. A "secret" meeting Is reported as being held Monday night In a house on South Central avenue, when can didates were discussed. There were IS people at the meeting. A candi date for sheriff, heretofore men tioned, was "pronounced all right, but he has no chance." There was one slightly "fiery speech," and a pleasant time was had by all, ac cording to Information. The final date for filing la April 8. To date Robert E. Bell has filed for sheriff and Jesse L. Nell has filed for precinct committeeman from the Bell view precinct. Both are Demo crats. I Y PLEAD GUILTY IN COURT SATURDAY Seven or eight of the 16 men in. dieted by the laat grand Jury fur crimes ranging from assault with deadly weapon to non-support, are scheduled to enter pleas of guilty when arraigned before Circuit Judge H. RECORDER ALFORD RETURNS TO DUTY M. L. A. ford, city recorder, was back In his office this morning in the city hull, after an Illness of sereral days Ht absence from the city council meeting last night was his first in seven years. In 1937 he was forced to miss a meeting of the city dads, when receiving treatment In a Port land hospital. 6lt.ee then he has been at every meeting.
