Cheal, 30th Infantry, from the Pre sidio at San Francisco, was a visitor at Medford CCC headquarters today. Fines Suspended Charged with op erating trucks with Improper licenses, three Medford men were taken into Justice court this morning by state police. Each was fined $5 and costs of Usf,0, which was suspended In all t,r cases. The men were Everett (P. Hutchlngs, Charlea W. Bunch and CI eve C. Tye. They were arrested Monday on the prater Lake highway,; hauling supplies to a CCC camp in that district. On Fishing Trip Two locsl youths, teed IS and 14 years, whose names were withheld by police, were lodged In the city Jail this morning after they were arrejted. each with a pound of butter they hed stolen from a local delivery truck in the alley be tween Front and Central streets. The butter was returned to the creamery. nu In Wool Here David Nelson of this city, representing the New Jersey Woolen Mills, stated today that he had been purchasing a number of clips m the Rogue River and Willam ette valleys, including a 30.000 pound purchse of mohair in the Willamette country. The rumors had speculated upon the possibility thst a divorce might be sought in Reno. 10 T LONDON, June 27 (AP) An agree, ment was reached late today between Dr. HJalmar Schacht, president of the Relchs bank, and Germany's long term creditors by which the Germans pledged payment of "something" In Interest on all long term coupons as they are due. The amount to be paid will be an nounced by Dr. Schacht from Berlin Friday. The Interest on the Dawes and Young plan loans will be met, as previously sgreed, but the question of the Young sinking fund still Is unsettled.- ES L SAN FRANCISCO, June 37. DeVaux, former president of the Yreka railroad, who is awaiting trial on a charge of con verting proceeds from a bond sale to bis own use. DeVaux waa arrested In Houston, Tex., eight months ago, and recently waa acquitted In Los Angeles of sim ilar charges growing out of the sale of bonds In his railroad company. I IS TOKYO, June 37 (AP) Ganges Island, shown on maps of the Pacific ocean at 30.57 degrees north latitude, 154.10 degrees east longitude, has dis appeared, according to Japanese naval surveyors who have just completed an extensive hydrographlc cruise. They reported a thorough survey was made of the Magelhaes Archipe lago without a trace of the island. Ganges Is shown near the steamship route from Yokohama to Honolulu, about a quarUn of the distance from the Japanese port. The total distance Is 8,445 nautical miles. The Megallan. or Magelhaes Archi pelago, which includes Ganges Island, extends from the southern Japanese coast about half way to Hawaii. The Times Atlas says they are mostly .uninhabited. Aman's Gaze teer says they are all uninhabited ex cept for Peel Island, largest of the Bonln group. The Bonln group was recognized as belonging to Japan In 1861, after which few American and British settlements disappeared. The main Islands of the Archipelago are a considerable distance from Ganges, which Is comparatively lso lated. TO BE NEGLECTED CINCINNATI, O., June 27. Davis, America's roving ambassador. Davis left Boston last night on the destroyer Bernadou, which waa pok ing her way northward through the fog at about 10 knots. The chief ex ecutive was hoping the destroyer would arrive before darkness made It impossible to enter this little harbor. Davis Is expected to give the presi dent a first hand account of the de liberations of the Geneva disarma ment conference, which he attended as head of the American delegation. The Bernadou also Is bringing Marvin H. Mclntyre, one of the presi dent's secretaries and James Roose velt, son of the president, who made a swift trip to Boston to participate in the state convention for repeal of the 18th amendment.
