The hitting hss been slow and slight up till Wednesday morning, and then the fish seemtd to enter into the spirit of the day, ac cording to "Rainbow" Olbson of We asku Inn, and started striking with such speed snd feruclty that fisher men on all stretches of the river were roused to a tense pitch of excitement. Another large Chinook weighing 25 pounds wss reported by William Meeks of this city who caught It Wednesday forenoon, Just as the flah started hitting. He hooked the fish Just a short distance from the city limits. J. L. Ohrlatlleb of this olty report ed the largest local catoh this season with a 37 pound Chinook he hooked Wednesday afternoon. This catch Is second only to the 55 pound salmon pulled in Tuesday by Ben Harrison of Long Beach. A number of local fishermen are now going out with blood In their eye, Intent on holding up their rep utation of southern Oregon sports men and not letting a southern Cali fornia citizen come 1000 miles to take the biggest catch of the year out from under their noeea.
