Johnsen. chairman of the tournament committee of the Rogue Vslley Oolf club In spesklng of the 'blind bogey" tournament to open the golf season today. Idaho won last night's game, 38 to 82, to split the two-game series. 1 WOMEN GOLFERS HAVE ROGUE VALLEY COURSE TO SELVES ON TUESDAY ' Ladles' day at the Rogue Valley Oolf course this year will be Tues day, lnstesd of Wednesday as In pre vious years, according to an en bouncement made this morning by Jack Hueston, professional at the club. 1 Play by the women of the dub will start Tuesday with a blind bogey handicap tourney. Regular Tuesday events will be played until Tuesday. April 4, when a point par play will tart. April 11' will be a blind hols tournament. April 18 rotation golf, and on April 25 the qualifying rounds for the Scotch tournament will be played. An obstacle tournament will be played May 2. Other feature plays are scheduled for Tuesdays following, and en Inter esting season of golf Is expected. HIGHlYlUTE COST IRONED OUT Ashland citizens Friday, following a conference with landowners along the proposed Ashland unit of the Pacific highway, reached a compromise agree ment, and secured promises that right-of-way costs would be reduced to a point near the. figure the state highway, commission Is willing to pay. The cost has. been cut to 16,000. The highway commission placed Its figure at $12,000. A week was allowed for adjudication. Options have been secured on the following land, from the owners: Mra D. H. Jackson, $9000. O. F. Billings. $3250; C. J, Ferrlne 22So and Mrs. Lena Phillips $500. This land lies outside the city limits of Ashland. No action has been secured yet on land inside. It Is confidently expected by Ash land citizens that the state highway commission, at a hearing to be called soon, will take steps towards con struction on the Ashland unit. Indian and Banker Of K.
