The Junior High Parent-Teacher association met Friday, December 9. at the Junior high school with the newly elected president, Mrs. O. H. Paske, presiding. The reports of secretary and treasurer and showed that the association was In a satis factory condition and ready to round out the year's work In good style. All present signed up lor memberships and all other parents of the school are most cordially Invited to enroll, so as to contribute their support and cc-operatlcn In the year's work. B. B. The social hour was held In the cafeteria with Mrs. H. Blnabarger and her committee pre siding. Parent-Teachers Invited to Meeting. Methodist Group To Prepare Gift Box. The Woman's Home Missionary group of the First Methodist Epls copal church will meet tomorrow afternoon at the Some of Mrs. W. F. Campbell on East Main street. All members are asked to bring their contributions for the box to be sent to the Portland Settlement Home. Grand Chancellor Barnes To Visit Local Lodge. Grand Chancellor W. S. Barnes will make his official visit to Talis, man Lodge, No. 31, Knights of Py thias, this evening. All knights are urged to be at the lodge hall and re freshments will be served after the meeting by J. W. Nixon, Ed 8chockle and W. L, walden. Grace Circle to Sew for Red Cross. Grace Circle of the Presbyterian church will meet Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Field home on Cottage street and members are asked to come prepared to sew for the Bed Cross. Mrs. W. W. Each mem ber will be asked to give a Christ mas verse In answer to roll call. Baptist Auxiliary ' ' Meets Tomorrow. The Ladles' Auxiliary of the First Baptist church will meet with Mrs. W. D. Roberts, 1011 West Tenth street, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock A short business meeting will pre cede the Christmas program. Mem bers and friends are Invited. Chrysanthemum circle To Have Christmas Tree. Chrysanthemum Circle, No. 84, Neighbors of Woodcraft, will spon sor a Christmas tree tor the Juveniles this evening, to which all children and members are Invited. The tree will be preceded by a business meeting. Daughters of Nile Patrol to Have Party A Christmas tree as centerpiece and Jolly little miniatures of old Santa Claus form a vary festive setting for the dinner party to be held this even ing by the Daughters of the Nile Patrol at the Hotel Holland. The miniatures of the favorite hol iday oharacter wear egg-shell hesds. gaily painted, with cotton whiskers and red uniforms. Fir oones and branches, candles and Christmas gifts also add much to the holiday setting, where covers will be placed for more than IS this evening. Hostesses for the event are Mrs. Jack Porter, Mrs. Ralph Woodford, Mrs. A. E. Peasley and Misses Yvonne Smith and Dorothy Reynolds. Streamers leading from the Christ mas tree to each place will, when drawn, reveal a Christmas gift tor each guest. Dinner will be followed by four tables of bridge. Mrs. Plant Accepts Position In South. Mrs. Helen Plsnt. who left Med ford two weeks ago for the south, after being guest for some time here of her sister, Mrs. 0. O. Lemmon, is now as sistant dean of women at Ban Jose State Teachers' college, and very pleased with her work, according to letters from the south. Mrs. Plsnt hsd considerable experience In this line of activity on the University of Oregon campus before coming to Med. ford. Phoenix Health Unit To Meet Tomorrow There will be an all-day meeting Tuesday of the Phoenix unit of the Jackson County Public Health asso ciation, at the home of Mrs. Ralph Wilcox. Covered dish luncheon will be served and each guest is asked to bring thimble and scissors to con tinue sewing for needy children of the county. Muslo Teachers Announce Subject for Discussion "Appllcstlon of Piano Technique' will be the subject of discussion at the round table session at the meet ing of the Jackson County Music Teachers' association at the studio of Mrs. H. I. Purucker Tuesday evening. The discussion will be led by Mrs. RawLea Moore. Miss Scheffel Gives Italian Dinner Miss Dee Scheffel was hostess last Thursday at an ItaUan dinner and evening of bridge at her home, 704 West sixth street. Covers were ar ranged for nine- at the attractive table, decorated in keeping with the southern European menu. Return North.
