In Good Condition.
The Junior High Parent-Teacher
association met Friday, December 9.
at the Junior high school with the
newly elected president, Mrs. O. H.
Paske, presiding. The reports of
secretary and treasurer and showed
that the association was In a satis
factory condition and ready to round
out the year's work In good style. All
present signed up lor memberships
and all other parents of the school
are most cordially Invited to enroll,
so as to contribute their support and
cc-operatlcn In the year's work.
B. B. Pinch, principal, gave a com
prehensive and enlightening talk on
'The Extra curricula Activities." Be
developed the subject as to the or
ganizations and their financing.
"These activities are necessary to tit
the girt or boy tor the competi
tion of today.' he stated.
Two vocal solos were sung by Mrs.
O. O. Larlson, accompanied by Mrs.
Paske, Miss Arnold, school librarian,
gave an appreciation talk on "Mag
azines and Books for Boys and Girls,
Christmas." The social hour was
held In the cafeteria with Mrs. H.
Blnabarger and her committee pre

For Jams and Jellies.

Grand Chancellor Barnes
To Visit Local Lodge.
Grand Chancellor W. S. Barnes
will make his official visit to Talis,
man Lodge, No. 31, Knights of Py
thias, this evening. All knights are
urged to be at the lodge hall and re
freshments will be served after the
meeting by J. W. Nixon, Ed 8chockle
and W. L, walden.

Sew for Red Cross.
Grace Circle of the Presbyterian
church will meet Tuesday afternoon
at 2 o'clock at the Field home on
Cottage street and members are

To Have Christmas Tree.
Chrysanthemum Circle, No. 84,
Neighbors of Woodcraft, will spon
sor a Christmas tree tor the Juveniles
this evening, to which all children
and members are Invited. The tree
will be preceded by a business meeting.

Patrol to Have Party
A Christmas tree as centerpiece and
Jolly little miniatures of old Santa
Claus form a vary festive setting for
the dinner party to be held this even
ing by the Daughters of the Nile
Patrol at the Hotel Holland.

Mrs. Plant Accepts
Position In South.
Mrs. Helen Plsnt. who left Med ford
two weeks ago for the south, after
being guest for some time here of her
sister, Mrs. 0. O. Lemmon, is now as
sistant dean of women at Ban Jose
State Teachers' college, and very
pleased with her work, according to
letters from the south. Mrs. Plsnt
hsd considerable experience In this
line of activity on the University of
Oregon campus before coming to Med.
ford.
Phoenix Health Unit
To Meet Tomorrow
There will be an all-day meeting
Tuesday of the Phoenix unit of the
Jackson County Public Health asso
ciation, at the home of Mrs. Ralph
Wilcox. Covered dish luncheon will
be served and each guest is asked to
bring thimble and scissors to con
tinue sewing for needy children of
the county.
Muslo Teachers Announce
Subject for Discussion
"Appllcstlon of Piano Technique'
will be the subject of discussion at
the round table session at the meet
ing of the Jackson County Music
Teachers' association at the studio of
Mrs. H. I. Purucker Tuesday evening.
The discussion will be led by Mrs.

Miss Scheffel Gives
Italian Dinner
Miss Dee Scheffel was hostess last
Thursday at an ItaUan dinner and
evening of bridge at her home, 704
West sixth street. Covers were ar
ranged for nine- at the attractive
table, decorated in keeping with the

Pupils Get Break
When Pipes Leak
It was a break for school-goers,
when pipes In the Junior High school
broke this morning. 8chool was dis
missed prior to 11 o'clock and will
not be resumed until Tuesday morn
ing. ,
The pipes, frozen, as many others
In town by the near to zero spell of
weather, started to thaw and broke.
Being located In the attic, they sent
a heavy stream of water into the
school rooms.

for the meeting of the Neighbor of
Woodcraft circle Wednesday night
have been changed. The card party
and Jitney supper, which were to
follow the business meeting, nave

later.
The regular meeting will commence
