Daniels, Mrs. James Owen, Mrs. Hamilton Patton, Mrs. Edwin Janney, Mrs. Chauncey Brewer and Mrs. Frederick Heath. Golden Link Class To Meet Thursday. The Oolden Link Bible class will nWe at the Elton Waldron home, "Suniet Park" Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Those wishing trans portation are asked to be at the Baptist church at 2 o'clock. A large attendance la urged. Music Teachers Name Standing Committees. A pleasant meeting of the Jackson county chapter of the State Music Teachers' association was held last evening at the home of Mrs. George Andrews. The business meeting was characterized by plans to arouse the music consciousness of Medford and to overcome the lethargy Into which many are gradually slipping. It Is the desire of the music teachers to give the community the best in mu sic through the development of the coming generation along musical lines It was pointed out at the session, and the members are enthusiastic and anxious to start the year's program. Standing committees for the year were appointed by Mrs. Andrews last night and Include: Program, Miss Harriett Baldwin, Mrs. E. E. Gore, Mrs. Minnie Guy; auditors. Miss Imo gens Wallace and Mrs. P K Folken berg; members, Miss Florence Graves, Mrs. John P. White and Mrs. T. J. Amspoker; publicity, Mrs. Una fl inch, Mrs. Rawles Moore, Miss Flor ence Graves; arrangements, Mrs. Alex Sparrow, Mrs. W. T. Bailey, Mrs. Moore; legislative and business. Miss Imogen Wallace and Mrs Folken berg. Following the business session, re freshments were served by Mrs. Andrews. The music teachers of the local chapter will meet the second Tues day of each month, and place of the next meeting will be decided and an nounced by the committees. Wenonah Club Has Party Rlnabarger Home The Wenonah club held a party at the home of Blanche Rlnabarger Monday evening In honor of the members who are unable to attend afternoon meetings. Many games and stunts were arranged by the commit tee In charge and doughnuts and odder were served by Bernlce Wilson and Ruth Dalley, assisting the host ess. The next regular meeting. "Card party day." will be held on Thurs day, November 17, at the home of Bernlce Wilson, 309 West Jackson street. Informal Party Enjoyed At Johnson Home Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Johnson, Jr entertained informally Saturday at their home on Portland avenue. Guests for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Ted McGrath and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Owen of Eugene, who recently motored here to visit friends, Mr and Mrs. Walter Nltzel, Misses Dor othy Eads and Thelma Heard and Messrs. Elks Thanksgiving nanos Inl.r.iti Manf I The next large event, looming on the local social horizon, la the Elks' annual Thanksgiving dance, which will be held at the Temple next Wed nesday evening, one week from today. Plans for the affair are already con suming the time of many local folk and there will be much dining before and after the dance. The committee tor the affair to composed of Bob Strang, Charles Gil bert and G rover Corum. Miss Gore Celebrates Mirth .lay Here Miss Beulah Gore, senior at the University of Oregon, spent the past week-end in this city with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Oore and sisters. Rosa and Dorothy, having come home to celebrate her birthday anniversary. Open house was held at the Gore home Saturday and Sunday after noons In her honor, and many friends called to offer congratulations. Pat torn Entertain At Several Events Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Patton are among Medford folk who entertained last week. Friday evening they in vlted about 30 guests to their home preceding ' t.he Armistice day ball. Thursday, Mrs. Patton entertained wlth a bridge luncheon for eight, and Saturday she was again hostess at luncheon and bridge, inviting four guests for the occasion. - Turkey Pinner Promised Washington School Pads Thursday night will be Daddy's night at Washington school and all daddies are promised an interesting time, and urged to be present. Tur key dinner will be served at 8:30 o'clock slid will be followed by a program In which children of the school will be presented. The affair la an annual one and extensive plans are being made to assure lte success. Miss Mohr Home For Week-end Miss Edna Mohr has returned to the University of Oregon to resume her school, after spending the week end In this city as guest of her par ents, Mr, and Mrs. Em 11 Mohr. Mrs. Montgomery Visits Here Mrs. Naomi Montgomery of Port land, who formerly made her home In Medford, arrived here last evening on the Shasta, to visit fiends. BANDON Carl Hessig and Wm. (AP) Amy Johnson, Britain's daring woman flier, who la trying to beat her husband's record from London to Cape Town, has suc cessfully crossed the great Sahara desert.
