THOMAS, Virgin Wands, Sept. 7 (AP) Trees were uprooted, build ings damaged and electric light and 'telephone services disorganized during the nigbt by a hurricane which swept this island before reaching up to Puerto Bico, where its heaviest Wow was delivered. ' BAN JUAN. P. H.. Sept. 37. (AP) At least 30 persona are known to have been killed in a terrific hurricane which struck this city last night. ?. The full force of a, 130-mile wind truck before midnight and lashed the city until 8:30 this morning, causing property damage even greater than that left in the wake of the dis astrous 1928 blow. BaKer told a circuit court jury here today that Michael E. Rosioway, barber, twice offered him a bribe in an effort to obtain his rote for a certtu municipal market site. FUND Relief Burden From Trans ients Recognized by Gov ernor In Recommending Money to meet needs WASHINGTON, Sept. 37 (AP) The Reconstruction corporation to day made $3 15,093 available to Georgia and $88,160 to Oregon for emergency relief needs. The Georgia fund is to be used In Fulton county, including the city of Atlanta, and the Oregon fund in Klamath county to care for there until December Zl. The Oregon governor reported to the corporation that because of the financial condition of the county and the relief burden under which it has labored, relief work fa entirely Inade quate, The county has a population of 33.407, of Whom 23.238 11? in Klamath Pulls and other incorporated towns. The Industrial population is dependent largely on the lumber in Suatry. Employment in this industry is below normal with staggered time ind low wages for individuals who have work. Klamath Palls has a heavy transient problem. It is the division point ox two railroads with no large cities r towns within 200 miles and is on the main line of north and south traffic for the Pacific states. Approximately 131,000 was spent for relief during 1331 in xismata county. In the first seven months of 1933 expenditure aggregated rre,917.
