Meteor Shower Adds Interest To Riding Party A number of Medford folk viewed the meteor ahower of Thursday night from southern Oregon bridle paths, going for a horae back ride through the Roxy Ann aectlon. WIMson. The first week of camp at Wlllpen Plnea haa been a most successful and happy one with the following Med ford Girl Scout In attendance: Lois Smith. Mary Jane Gay, Phoebe Dean, Anne Dean. Natalie Tengwald, Hejen Latham, Charity Hart. Emily Jane Tyree, Dorothy McKenzie, Virginia Hammond. Led a O'Neal, Nancy Clark Josephine Mead, Mary Elizabeth Clark. Josephine Bullis, Kathryn Mead. Rutn Banish, Betty Oil lings. Barbara Holt, Phyllis Smith. The girls are divided Into three groups, with each group wearing a tie of a, certain color. Dramatics, pioneering, nature study, handicraft, archery and swimming have been the chief studies of inter est during the week, with many of the girls making remarkable progress In them. Another special feature of this camp la the printing of a weekly camp newspaper "The Wlllpen Pines Mirror," which la tinder the direction of Miss Naomi Hohman. Being for tunate borrowers of a mimeograph machine for the season makea this possible, and the gtrla feel they are all potential newspaperwomen aireaay. Friday evenings have been selected as visitors and parenta evening when they are invited to come out and enjoy the special campflre pro gram for them. Those coming out on Sundays may do eo between 3:00 and 0:00 p.m. Registrations for camp are received at the First National bank, at the trust department. I shall be at the office on Wednes days from 1:30 to 4:30 and also on Saturdays at the same hours. MIm Butler Returns From Trip South Miss Arllene Butler returned yes terday from a week's motor trip to Snn Francisco with the Misses Luclle and Thelma Perorzl of Ashland. The three took the coast road on their return north, stopping at severnl beaches. iMrs. Owen Returns From North Soon Mrs. James H. R News Of Interest to Daughters of the American Revolution are the pro posed changea to be made In th na tional committee. At the first meet in e of the new national board, the new president-general, Mra. Magna, recommended that the committee on legislation In the United States con gress be recreated; that the name of the historical and literary reciprocity committee be changed to committee for filing and lending historical pa pers; that the national defense com mittee be called the national defense embodying, patriotic education; that the present patriotic education com mittee hereafter be known aa the Americanism and approved schools committee and that a national regis trar committee be created. This committee la to consist of all state registrars with the registrar-general aa chairman. All of these recommen dations were approved by the board, to be considered latet by the state societies.
