Through the international Steward Magazine, where the bureau has run some advertising this past season to further the use of pears In hotels and restaurants, a survey was ar ranged by the magazine. Ten boxes of peara were allowed each of the following hotels, who are to report tneir nncings: The statler hotels in Buffalo. Cleveland and Detroit: the Harvard Club, Boston; Mai Hard's. Chicago; Brie cafe, Philadelphia; Wil liam Perm hotel, Pittsburgh, and American-Annex hotel, St. Louis. The hotel in St. Louis has asked for an additional quantity, and Is serving them at civic luncheons at the pres ent time. In Boston, the Harvard club spread the ten boxes furnished them among a number of hotels. Including the Hotel Beaconafteld, John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance company res taurant, Hotel Statler, Algonauln elub. Hotel Vendome, Engineers club, Chamber of Commerce restaurant, and Exchange club. Another Boston ho tel became Interested through an ad vertisement In the International steward, and his written In for In formation.
