Schlffer Is reported getting along nicely, following a major operation at the Sacred Heart hospital. Jack Clark Is also In the hospital, having undergone an operation. Stops at Port Dr. Patden of Oak land, Cal, physician for the Pacific Air Transport, Boeing and Varney air lines, stopped at the Medford air port today. Mitchell, secretary of the Liberal Civic league, made public a telegram today which he said was received from Franklin D. Roosevelt, candi date for the Democratic presidential nomination. It was In answer to a request by the league for Roosevelt's stand on prohibition. The telegram, Mitchell said, read as follows: "Please consider I still maintain 10P per cent by earlier expression of opinion favoring the return of con trol of Intoxicants to the several states.
