Dr. Wm. Aldrlch of the govern
ment experimental orchard acquaint
ed members of the Ktwanls club with
the type of work being done at the
orchard In an address at the regular
club luncheon at the Hotel Medford
today noon.
The government' aim, he pointed
out. Is to help the pear grower make
more money by reducing his produc
tion coats. Experiments are being
made to show the value of water In
the production of more and larger
fruit.
Trees, as people, Dr. Aldrlch point
ed out, need water. The experimen
tal work carried on at the orchard
near tftls city will determine the best
time for applying the water to the
trees In view of better fruit, he
stated.
The benefits to be derived by local
business men through the production
of fruit at lower costs, was empha
sized to the club members by the
speaker In conclusion.
Olin Arnsplger of the Talent and
Medford Irrigation districts expressed
his apprect talon of the information
being brought to growers and irri
gation district heads by the govern
mental experimentation. R. G. Fow
ler, county agent, also added a word
of appreciation of Dr. Aldrlch's work

The peppiest, snappiest, cleverest
laugh-song picture that has been
proffered In Medford for many moons
Is now showing today and tomorrow
at the Fox Craterian theater flth
Inimitable Maurice Chevalier and a
magnificent supporting cast, in that
sparkling hit, "One Hour With- You."
This great singing comedy has
that undefiniable "it" of which you
have heard so much and only Clara
Bow herself can match flaming per
sonality. "One Hour With You" hasn't a
serious or dull moment in It. With
gorgeous Jeanotte MacDonald and
Oenevleve Tobin, two blondes and
oh I what blondes together with
Charles Ruggles, Roland Young and
a whole galaxy of other celebrities,
this picture keeps you either roaring
with laughter or listening rapturous
ly as clever eong after song is so ex
cellently presented.
One of the smartest added attrac
tions on this program is the local
debut of Madge, clever organist, as a
songstress. As a part of her nifty
solo feature she sings two songs, and
with the opening of the program yes
terday, she was awarded enormous
applause. Hear her sing for the first
time In Medford.
A Karl Dane and George K. Arthur
comedy rounds out a dandy ensemble
of entertainment.
