The same natural phenomenon accounts for the drying up of the Jordan for the Jews to cross, he believes. The expedition, ho says, lias discovered that the elay banks of the river caved In near' El Damieh at about the period described In the Bible. Sir Charles Marston, who has flnancer three expeditions to con firm the authenticity of Bible records, believes this naturalistic explanation of the miracles really corroborates ' the biblical descrip tion.
