Early this month the city council voted to close the dances, following action taken by the Citizens' Civic league for the appointment of four special offic er on grounds fflat the Saturday night parties were two hilarious. The council Is to meet tonight apd will probably grant permis sion for the reopening of the dances In the old United States ho tel. The first dance is to he held next Saturday night under the aus pices of the Jacksonville Commer cial club, owner of the building. There will he no special officers. There are very few spinets to be found on the Pacific coast, Mr. Howard says and the fact there are two of them In Medford, the oilier being owned by Mrs. Porter J.
