Her action ended a White River episode that cost the life of her father, Cicero Spense, and eventu ally brought death to her mother. Crowd in Panic As Worls slumped to the Door, panic developed with women and children screaming and fighting to get out. Mrs. Katon surrendered and was taken to the state peniten tiary at Little Kock. Worls was accused of wounding Spense and throwing him from a boat into the White river while still alivo. Two other men and Mrs. Spense were in the boat.
