cow. The Kokles, parents of
eight children, had lieen mar
ried 41 years.

slayer of her father in a crowded
court room, Mrs. Helen Spense Ea
ton, 17, was in the penitentiary to
day. With dramutlc suddenness she
roso from her seat yesterday and
fired lour hullets into the body of
Jack Worls, :10, just as the jury
prepared to file from the room to
deliberate charge of murder
against him.
Her action ended a White River
episode that cost the life of her
father, Cicero Spense, and eventu
ally brought death to her mother.
Crowd in Panic
As Worls slumped to the Door,
panic developed with women and
children screaming and fighting to
get out. Mrs. Katon surrendered
and was taken to the state peniten
tiary at Little Kock.
Worls was accused of wounding
Spense and throwing him from a
boat into the White river while
still alivo. Two other men and
Mrs. Spense were in the boat.
The slaying occurred in a remote
section of the White Kiver country
and it took officcrs.several days to
journey to the scene and return
