"In our plane the indicator was so con structed that without changing my position I could look through the bottom of the plane and sight any shadow or object," nays Admiral Uyrd. "If the wire remained on thp object it meant there was no wind drift; if it appeared to move out to one side of the other. U meant we were drifting.
