B Jfi H? i W ) H J The retrial of Walter Halloy, charged with possesnion of lltiuor, was begun in tho circuit court this morning, with(tftho Belfctlon fo a jury from u special venire. The court informally announced that he would "close down on the vituperation of opposing counsel' markinff the first trial, which re sulted in a disagreement, and cau tioned the attorneys to confine themseiveO to the facts find the evidence. The defendant is repre s nted by Attorney Thomas J, Kiiright. and the state by Assistant District Attorney George Neilson. In the first trial the two lawyers engaged in a heated exchange over the difference between a "hoolleg Ker' nnrt a "stoolpigeon," ami made the closing argument bittt r. Jurors questioned this morning. Including two women, were asked about their attitudo toward the prohibition laws and if applying of the term "stoolpigeon" to one of the state witnesses, would preju dice them. Among the witnesses scheduled to he called by the defense, is Gene O'Grady, pugilist of promise, who testified at the first trial ho drove Halley to Ashland in his .'fnlo on the day of the alleged crime, at an hor contrary to tho time set by state witnesses.
