The park ser vice is cooperating with this work in the park and it is now a plea sure to drive along the scenic route to the lake. "Construction of a new road to encircle the tip of the gigantlu . volcanic cup Crater Lake which j wiH cost in the neighborhood of a million dollurs, will commence I early next year. There is a quar ter of a million already available for this work, and we will pro advertise this fall for this 3-mHc drive, which will be ono of the most outstanding scenic highways in the world." Mr. Albright was delighted with the big Increase In attendance at Crater Lake and predicts this will continue fronuyear to year. "Other Improvement at the lake," said the director, "will In clude a lookout on Victor Hock, to cost about $10,000, extenslvo landscaping along the rim of the lake, which Is now In progress, and the extension of walks and trails." f isMr. Albright has been In the National Park Servieo for ten years, was superintendent of Yel lowstone and assistant to Director Mather until bis death, and u year and a half ago when ho was cho-j sent to take the place of the do i ceased.
