"EVERYONE IN SOUTHERN OREGON READS THE MEDFORD MAIL ATTRACTfOMS FOR TOURIST FEATURE C. OF C. PAMPHLET :t 1 A v new; story of Medford and southern' OreRon, told in an attrac tive pamphlot compiled ly the pub licity committee of the local Cham ber of commerce and printed by the Medford Printing company, with mat designed and painted ny Herb Grey, local commercial de signer, is ready for distribution and will be sent out to all sections, par ticularly points north ; and south of Medford, C. T. Raker, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, stat ed this morning. The new $150,000 airport and Crater Lake vie for honors in the colorful cover designed by Mr. Grey. The map which outlines the playground of the sportsman and vacationist is -filled with action, each place being decorated with a funny little man participating In the sport- particularly p o p u 1 u r there. At Medford he is presented in. an airplane, at Diamond hike he Is fishing, and at Klamath lake hunting ducks. Fishing, hunting and golf have been given considerable space In the reading section. Resorts, ho tels and restaurants are nlflo well described, along with tht climate and industrial advantages of this section. - Photographs of Mill Creek Falls, Diamond Lake, Crater Lake, Lake o'- the Woods, and Kogue River ntfe included. The center section of the pamphlet Is covered by a ma'p of the state, re-issued by the Medford Chamber of Com merce. phenWenaseen at crater lake CRATER LAKE, Ore., July 15. (Special) Something new in storms caused considerable com ment among those at Crater Luke this week - end. A heavy cloud i resembling a thin veil of dust or smoke, rose from somewhere near Mount Scott and settled over the lake. For several houfs It continued , to hang over the water and many people stood on the rim watching to see just what it would turn out to be. Home believed it to be a cloud of smoke from furest fires but Investigation as to any near by fires t spoiled that suggestion. Belief of the majority wns prob ably the correct one, that the wind had stirred up a huge whirlwind . on the opposite sido of the rim ' "''cousinifthe.'' pumice dust' I'd soar skyward in heavy clouds nnd then drop slowly over the lake.' No matter what it whs, it certainly added to the beauty of the sun net lli:t evening. eagles easily quenched RAGLE POINT, Ore., July 15. ( Special y Fire of undetermined origin Saturday menncted the local lumber yard, which joins the Faber and Chugwln store. The flames were extinguished before any real dnmnge had been done, due to. the nlertnessof Mr. Maple and Elsie Wilhilo, clerks of the 'store; CRATER IAKE TRAIL CRAfEU LAKE, Ore., July 15.
