Importations oft his quality pack of.; sardnes are now greatly in ex cess of those of the French product and the demand is steadily in: creasing. AMERICAN SARDINES The canning of domestic sardines in oil, mustard and otherwise, is an"; important business and large quantities are consumed. The fact that domestic sardines fail to obtain the higher ' prices ' ail,. -favor of the imported product is not duo to any uotewwlbyJtliff ferctotie l in the fish themselves, but to the extraordinary care exercised by the leading European canneries to achieve the finest possible results."
