Society Vacations After Memorial Day Many Medford people took ad vantage of-the holiday Friday and motored to beaches and neighbor ing cities to spend the week-end and will bo returning to their homos tonight and tomorrow morning. The many friends of James Boston Grlovo were glad to wel come him and his brldo home after their wedding which took place at Tho Dalles, Orogon on Sunday, May 25th. Tho brldo Is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. AV. E. Cauller of The Dalles, and is a graduato of the Normal school of Mon mouth, Oregon. Most of her life has been spent In the vicinity of Hood River and The Dalles, except what time sho spent in attendance at the Oregon State Normal school where she and Mr. Grieve met dur ing his college days at tho Oregon State college at Corvallis. Tho wedding was solemnized at tho homo of tho bride's parents, Tho double ring ceremony was read by tho Rev. G. L, Matlock. They were attended by Ferral Fisch and Jane Cauller the latter a sister of the bride. Mrs. Grieve's grandmother, Mrs. J. C. Emmcl, a singer of considerable prominence, sang "I Love Aou Truly," before the ceremony. The bride was beau tifully gowned in a beige georgette dress and carried an arm bouquet of yellow rose buds and lilies of tho valley. A buffet luncheon was served following tho ceremony, after which tho happy couple left for Portland on a wedding trip. Mr. and Mrs. Grlovo aro now at home to their many friends at Prospect, Oregon. Tho president opened the meeting by reading Psalm 101. Mrs. A. SI. Mead led the prayer. After the singing of a hymu, Mrs. Effie Dally took charge of the program. She was a delegate to tho Baptist state convention held in the AV'hlto Temple, Portland, May 30-23. Sho gave a very interesting report, especially of tho ladles' meeting held Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Don Piatt sang a solo, "Glva Me Thlno Heart"; Mrs. Opal Finloy accompanied her on the piano. Th missionary country studied on the program was South India. Rev. p. AV. Stait, who had spent 42 years there, was at the conven tion and told of many Interesting changes that had taken place since first gong to that country.
