The program, which was light and humorous, was thoroughly en- Joyed. The officers had charge of the numbers on the program, some officers putting on their numbers personally, und others by proxy. The master. A. C. Alittelsteadt, posed as a student of the great "Herman." and entertained with legerdemain. Mrs. Violet Spencer aud .Mrs. Lulu Ward put on a short comedy stunt. Mrs. YYcidman sang two solos, one of which was the German "Lauderbaeh." sung in German. This was really quite a stunt, for Mrs. Weidman is an Eng lish woman, borne and bred, and neither speaks nor understands German. Rudy .Weidman sang two tenor solos. Pearl . St o well ami Alex Vestal, with the assistance of someone's pet fox terrier, gave sev eral harmonica numbers. No one quite understand: how either one was declared the winner, as there was only one round and neither one seemed to be knocked out. The only number that approach ed tlie classical was a, viollncello solo by the treasurer, C. F. Ouvies. Mi. Pavles proved a master hand with the Instrument for no one but a master Hand could have pro duced such music without even us ing his fingers to strike a note on tile finger-board.
