ijrXOE'TIIRET! MEDFORD MAIL' TRIBUTE, : MEDFORD,. OIM-.Ooy. " WEDNESDAY.' APRIL 24, 1029, LABOR LIEN CASE T IE VISITORS Circuit court was In seiM-iun to day hearing the ciiulty cane of C i if. : Swart h-y against the Medford J Itediidng and JZefinin company, involving n nunher .' of Menu for money duo for labor and supplier at -the company's quicksilver mine in . the northwestern part of the county. It Is likely the case will not be completed until this even ing. The court is 'not "Scheduled to begin jury sepMuim , until next Tuesduy, when Macy" I-lntt, arrest-,, cd by the sheriff's office sometime ago tor possession and transporta tion of alleged moonshine, will have a second trial on a transpor tation charge, the jury having dis agreed in the first ulrcuit court trial two weeks ago. - ' Since that trial, Llntt woh tried and acquitted in the Jacksonville justice court on a liquor possession charge, which had been filed by officers in connection with the charge of transportation. From appearances today, the wheels of justice may be' delayed, as T. J. Enright, attorney for the defense, filed a motion to dismiss the trans portation case on grounds of Llntt'a acquittal in Jacksonville. The motion held that without pos session, there can be no transpor tation. However, Lintt still has chafes of speeding, reckless ;drivini; mid breaking glass on the highway against him, and it is likely he will be tried on one of . these charges In tho -Ashland juatlco court in a short time. - ALUMINUM AGENT While the streets and buildings f the city are being decorated in gay colors and streamers several of tho business firms are busily on gqged in preparing special window displays and settings embodying the Shrine colors and emblems. A . rather elaborate setting of a mi n fa tu re oasis and desert is being Installed in the Holly street win dow of the Pantorium Dye Works. A very cU'Ver- background made by the Cleveland Decorating com pany with lifelike camels and Shriner Dervishes are used in tho scene. Ole Alcnderfer of the Peoples Electrio store was a bit hesitant as regards information as to the de tails of the display being planned by that institution but promised that a fitting window will be in place by Friday. It was hinted that a tieup between the much talked of Shrine desert and the modern homo refrigerating ' sys tems will be made in some way. The chamber of commerce was the first building to blossom out with a Shrine display: It consists of a beautiful picture of. Crater Lake as a background to a Hfclike Shrine desert being traversed by enterprising Shrine novices. The oasis in the desert was created by Mrs. Sch ope n of the Rogue Valley Floral company. Lawrence, tho Jeweler, Russell's. Mann's, Strang's Bootery and the Palmer Music House arc also planning special displays. Tho Colonial Bakery wilt build a window around a giant Shrine cake which will bo presented to Art uiuckman, potentate of the Sacramento Temple. The usunl clever pastry work of this firm will ulso feature various other parts of a special setting to welcome the visitors. - ! : ; ; " Now Playing at Hunt's Craterian ' iff Jmt jMPM s D. J.
