The mayor pointed out the fact that the water system and the city's water needs are imperative mat tors for consideration. He advises a larger use of the Talent water lor irrigation and mentioned the recent action of the city council in attempting to Influence legisla tion by congress to protect the Ashland watershed and to prevent the destruction of timber, lie also mentioned the progress of the work of fencing the watershed to keep stock from coming into t,he re stricled area. Mayor Thornton stated that ho had found that oue man on a committee can work more efficiently i):nn many, so com mittees for the coming year are composed of one or two members. lrt W. E. Instead of appointing a sanitary committee the mayor stated that It was bis lutention to choose oao of the city employes later to act as sanitary Inspector. The same de partment heads as have served the past year were renamed for the several positions. Salaries of city employes will re main the Bamo as last year. The three returned to their home Tuesday and were accompa nied by Curtis llonney and Hay Lagesou, who will visit with rela tives In Klamath county. The Christmas entertainment .Monday night, was well attended and in spite of the prevailing flu epidemic, was a .success in every way. The house and tree were taste fully decorated with the usual over greens and bright-colored, decora tions, an emple supply of candy nuts and present were on hand. A rood program was carried nut without a hitch, and, last but not least, old Santa Clans appeared in person, much to the enjoyment of the kiddies and old folks as' well.
