A temporarily djranged mind is believed by Vaco, Tex., police
to have caused Mrs. li. O. Ashwo-th, 24, right, above, wife of a
newspaper cashier, to calmly enter the plant, shown below, in which
he worked, engage Mi.is Charlie Lawson, left, also of the same age,
in conversation, shoot her to death, attempt to force poison down
the throat of her 18-month-o!d daughter and then drain the-remainder
of the vial herself. Miss Lawson died almost instantly and
Mr3. Ashworth succumbed in a hospital a short tune later. The
baby is expected to recover.

comply with the request of an Atlanta commercial exchange to have
the first bale of Georgia cotton of the season auctioned on the floor
