The Ladles' Sewing club met at the home of Mrs. Cecil R. Culbertson Wednesday. Miss York, county demonstrator, was present. Mrs. Wright of Brownslioro and several ladles of Lake Creek community were guests of the club. A very pleasant day was spent and several stitches for fine sewing were shown. At noon a dinner fit to set. before kings was Berved. The assessormade a mint to arrive at about the same hour with Mr. Cul bertson and Mr. Prince. The after noon quickly slipped away and It was time to leave for the various homes before folks realized the aft ernoon was Bpent. The next meet ing will be held at the home of Mrs. LaVern Pech. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen and son of Mrownsboro and their nelce, Miss Edris Warren of Portland, who Ib spending a few months with them, were callers at Lake Creek last Monday evening. . M. D. Bowles and Wm. Almy made a business trip to Medford Monday. Mrs. A. L. Pech and daughter, Virginia, Bpent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Brown. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Fox returned home Wednesday from Portland. Their Bon, Curtis, Is still In a very critical condition and there Is very little hope for his recovery. ifrs. Nancy Scbmidling of Port land is visiting her mother, Mrs. IS. R. Jones. Misses Edith Gore, Beth Farlow and Julia Sidley attended the insti tute at Kn','le Point last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Mojer were callers at the If. L. Tonn home Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey of Trail came up Sunday after their son, Guy Walton, who has been viBlting with L. J. Grlssoni. W. II. XuKKbauin and family were doing business in Medford on Saturday. Paul Kurtz, who sheared sheep for Claronce WUhite; W. Y. Mar shall and Frank Farlow last week, moved his shearing machine out last Sunday. M.iss Marguerite Nlckell is stay ing with Mrs. T. L, Farlow a few days. Mrs. R. About 200 sat down! at the banquet, while the addresses ! were very Inspiring and helpful. Those who enjoyed Myrtle Point's hospitality were Misses Esther Holdrldge, Iiura Tryer. Edna New bry and Messrs, Lester Newbry, Ira Hurt and Clarence Holdridge. It is requested that a full attendance of tho league be present next Sun day evening when the reports from the convention will be given. Ira Hart will present the first depart ment. Esther Holdridge the second. l,aurn Tryer the third. Edna New bry the fourth, also "Our Insti tute"; Clarence Holdridge will give an account of their trip while Mr. Newbry will lve the main thoughts in the different addresses. Mra. Horge substituted for Mrs. Jaeckal in the seventh and eighth grades Wednesday afternoon. The seniors received their an nouncement cards Wednesday. William Foster and nephew, Roy Foster, of Seattle, arrived Sunday and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Foster. They left Tuesday for Eureka, Cal. O. U Wright of Union, Ore., who is state game commissioner, called on O. A. Manning at the auto park Thursday. Jonah Barrett left last Friday for Klamath Falls, wher ehe lias se cured work in one of the logging camps. Tim Community club met Wed nesday afternoon at tho homo of Mrs. Charley Estes with a, large at tendance and a most interesting meeting was held. Plans were completed for the attendance of the delegates to the woman's congress. which meets at Medford Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28. A committee was also appointed to purchase draporleB for the com munity halt which is being kalso mined and revamlshed this week, and every effort is being made to have the work completed for the opening and dedication of the new hall which is planned for April 3S. It has been decided that the club will not disband for the summer months as heretofore, hut will con tinue throughout the year. Great credit Is due the club for the awak ening of the town and much appre ciation Is expressed by tho towns people fo rtliis Improvement, and, as theBO parties are for tho com munity in general, everyono may come and have a good time.
